Math Placement Options at a Glance
What math course should I take?
Credit-level math courses without prerequisites:
MAT100, MAT101, MAT102, MAT109 and MAT118
MAT100, MAT101, MAT102, MAT109 and MAT118
If your test scores indicate a placement of MAT 100, you may take any of the following courses. These courses are independent of each other and can be taken in any order.
- MAT 100: A Topical Approach to Mathematics: (4 credits)
- MAT 101: Concepts of Mathematics: (3 credits)
- MAT 102: Introduction to Statistics: (3 credits)
- MAT 109: Algebra and Trigonometry: (4 credits)
- MAT 114: Foundations of Mathematics for the Elementary School Teacher: (3 credits)
- MAT 118: Finite Mathematics: Quantitative Analysis: (3 credits)
Credit-level math courses with prerequisites:
MAT111, MAT112, and MAT 122
MAT111, MAT112, and MAT 122
If your test scores indicate a placement of MAT 111, you may take MAT111 or any course listed above.
- MAT 111: Precalculus: (4 credits)
If your test scores indicate a placement of MAT 112, you may take MAT112/MAT122 or any course listed above.
- MAT 112: Calculus with Applications in Business and Social Sciences: (4 credits)
- MAT 122: Calculus 1: (4 credits)
